Lanier Islands Gets Set to Flip the Switch on 25 Years of Sparkle

On November 17th, 2017, Lanier Islands raises the curtain on the 25th Anniversary of its renowned Magical Nights of Lights. What began with about 40 holiday themed light displays and lights strung throughout the trees in 1993 has grown to encompass millions of twinkling lights that bring life to massive light displays spread out over seven miles that weave throughout our scenic lakeside resort. What hasn’t changed in all of that time is the place Magical Nights of Lights holds in the hearts of countless families as a cherished part of their holiday traditions. Each year, that number grows as new generations of Southern families discover the wonder and whimsy of Magical Nights of Lights.

What’s a Celebration Without a Party?

The lights all lead to Magical Nights of Lights’ electric epicenter – The Holiday Village. While there, you can enjoy the festive atmosphere, roast marshmallows over enormous bonfires, warm yourself from the inside out with a cup of hot cocoa, take a spin on a classic carnival rides, find the perfect gift for that special someone, and visit with the Big Guy himself, Santa Claus.

Drum Roll, Please!

After a two-year hiatus to undergo a massive refurbishment, the most popular display on our Magical Nights of Lights tour returns… The Twelve Days of Christmas! Once again, you and your carload can sing – both on and off-key to one of the most beloved Christmas carols of all time. As you pass each brightly lit display, sing of partridges in pear trees, turtle doves, French hens, calling birds, golden rings and more.

Dazzling Debut

NEW for 2017, we are proud to introduce an exciting addition to our Magical Nights of Lights tour. Sponsored by Universal Concepts, this new display features a captivating 65-foot Christmas Tree at the heart of the tour.

Why Limit the Magic to Just One Night?

To help families extend the enchantment beyond a few precious hours, we are pleased to offer a number of terrific Magical Nights of Lights-themed accommodation packages that include an overnight stay at Legacy Lodge – proud member of the esteemed Southern Living Hotel Collection. Depending on the package you choose, you might experience a rare Elf Tuck-in – where one of the Islands’ elves pays a visit to good girls and boys to read them a story and share some milk and cookies. You could also make memories with your family during a sumptuous Breakfast with Santa buffet or with the one you love during a romantic drive through the lights – followed by champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries back at your room. Hosting a larger group? Our overnight packages can be upgraded to include accommodations at our lakeside luxury Legacy Villas or home-away-from-home bungalows at the Legacy LakeHouses.
