It was a beautiful Sunday for Easter Brunch and an egg hunt here at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. The clouds parted and the rains dried up as the sun finally greeted us with a warm smile and a hug. Families came out in their Sunday finery and we saw so many lovely dresses and charming suits! Guests raved about our brunch, featuring an extensive buffet menu and so many desserts it seemed all the little boys and girls temporarily forgot to be upset at their Easter clothing, and instead stared open-mouthed at our chocolate fountain and decorate-your-own cupcake station! Guests could choose from a wide variety of breakfast items like bacon, grits, sausages, pastries, muffins, and even a customized omelette made fresh to order! Additionally, several varieties of exotic and local cheeses were placed with nuts and berries next to our build-your-own salad station. Kids could snag their favorites from a miniature buffet line tailored just for them, while the adults looked forward to a carvery featuring garlic-infused beef, maple-glazed ham, and tender lamb with rosemary and mint. Everything was very festively decorated for Easter, and as guests moved about the Plantation Ballroom where our buffet was spread, they were delighted with giant chocolate bunnies, beautiful floral arrangements, and even two gorgeous ice sculptures aglow with soft light. Families were treated to an elegant environment in Grand Ballroom with live music and wait staff to care for their every need. Baskets full of Easter Eggs hinted at the great egg hunt to come after a sweet dessert.
The Egg Hunt out at Legacy Pointe was a clear favorite for all children. With dozens and dozens of eggs hidden in the grass, bushes, woods, and along the distinctive stonework of the Legacy Pointe arbor, every child filled his or her basket in no time, while proud parents took picture after picture. The Easter Bunny could even be seen keeping an eye on the festivities and giving out hugs at every opportunity. In fact, the Easter Bunny was invited to visit the kids at Lake Lanier Islands by his close personal friend Bucky Beaver, who even joined in on some light-hearted dancing and posing for pictures!
As families counted their eggs in their baskets, children were next treated to pony rides and an adorable petting zoo! All your favorite horses, like Famous Fred, Casper, Joe, and Black Jack, offered rides to excited kids for several hours. The petting zoo was another favorite, with baby goats clambering all over stacked hay bales, chickens softly clucking in their pen, a bunny and a pig rooting around for treats and pats, and even baby ducklings chirping from under warm hands! Even Bucky and the Easter Bunny got in on the love!
All in all it was a perfect Sunday, and while we said goodbye t0 the Easter Bunny for another year, we can hardly wait for our next big event to host all our favorite guests once again!

I had the most enjoyable weekend I have ever had in my life this weekend at Lake Lanier. EVERYTHING was perfect, from the fabulous brunch to the most spectacular egg hunt and petting zoo. I must also mention the stunning views and venues around the lake, the gorgeous Lodge, our comfortable room with impeccable service, the delicious food at Bullfrogs, the super fun Sunset Cove with the best fish and chips ever… I could go on and on. It was sad leaving this morning, but now that I know how enchanting Lake Lanier Resort is I will be going back soon!
